It’s that time of year again, the beginning of a new school year and as the kids set off in new uniform and endless pairs of trainers for this and that activity (why they just can’t have one pair for everything seems bonkers to me) I thought maybe I should take a leaf out of their book and do the same.

I have been struggling along all summer with a back injury (well, thats my excuse anyway) and have done very little exercise. So, finding it hard to get back into the swing of things is putting it mildly.

Sometimes all it takes to get you motivated is a change about. I have rummaged through those exercise clothes I don’t wear very often which get squeezed to the back of the cupboard (you know the ones you brought in the sale because you thought it was a good idea !! yup those ones..) well today I am going to give them an outing as, lets face it, those ones I drag on every week because “they do the job” are probably not in their first flush of youth anyway.

I brought a new pair of trainers, I am embarrassed to admit some four years ago now, and they have been in waiting until my other trainers wore out – clearly I do not do enough exercise as here we are four years on and my new ones still haven’t been used. Cometh the hour, cometh the trainers and its out with the old and on with the new… I have a spring in my step and am heading out for a power walk.  Come on all you lovelies out there who need a bit of a kick up the behind, you can do it too don’t wait another day, get your trainers on and get moving.
