I have spoken about this before on my instagram account but stepping out of your comfort zone and doing something thrilling can really help to shake off the stresses, worries and fears that seem to be on permanent repeat in your brain. Trying something new for the first time that is not in your usual remit can be a real mood enhancer and give you a serious pep up.
Recently I went to Thetford Forest to the “GoApe” course they have there. I have to admit that it was not my first choice of outing but as various children I was taking there could not go on it without an adult, all eyes turned on me and I ended up going ape right along with a group of (seemingly) fearless teenagers. I have to hold my hand up and admit that I did not completely enjoy it at the time (lets just say here and now that I was scared out of my wits on several occasions…) but the sense of achievement at the end not to mention the team bonding that was created (mainly by a group of 14 year olds trying to convince me that I could actually throw myself off a platform even when my own head was screaming “no” at me) made it a one off experience that I will never forget.
I know this will not to be to everyone’s liking but sometimes putting yourself in a new situation can be invigorating and life affirming. Try something new, maybe not this weekend (you might need a bit of time to coax yourself into it) but plan something, say, before christmas … I promise you will not regret it.
